Find a local IDVA

An IDVA is an Independent Domestic Violence Adviser. They help you plan for safety, understand your choices and get practical support with housing, legal processes and other services. They are not a counsellor or your legal representative.

Start with your council or local domestic abuse service

Search your council’s website for “domestic abuse” or ask a local domestic abuse service: “How can I contact an IDVA in my area?” In Hounslow, use the team on page 3. Services have different age, area and referral criteria; some focus on people at high risk. Ask about other support if you do not meet the IDVA criteria.
