FAQ

How do I get started?

Reach out through my contact form to schedule a free 30-minute discovery call. I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions. There is absolutely no need to commit; we can simply meet and get a sense of whether we would be a good fit. I’ll always be honest if I believe another professional would be better placed to support you.

How long will therapy last, and how often will we meet?

There is no set length; it’s up to you, and we can work this out together. If things feel overwhelming and you’re not sure what you need right now, we can start with an in-depth assessment to explore your experiences and consider your options. This can be a standalone appointment, without committing to ongoing therapy.

If you choose to continue, we can discuss weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions, depending on what feels helpful and appropriate for you. I’m flexible, and we can review the pace and frequency together as your needs change.

Do I need to commit after a discovery call?

No. The discovery call is a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether we would be a good fit. You can take time to decide.

Where can I find other support options?

My Resources page has free booklets to help you explore therapy and other support options at your own pace.

Is therapy confidential, and how is my information protected?

Your privacy matters. What you share in therapy is treated confidentially, and your personal information and therapy notes are handled securely in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. I may discuss our work in clinical supervision to support safe, ethical practice, without using identifying details.

Confidentiality has limits, including where there are serious concerns about your safety or someone else’s, safeguarding concerns, or a legal requirement to share information. Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first. Any session recording would only take place with your agreement.

Before we begin, we will go through my treatment contract together. This explains how we will work together, confidentiality and its limits, record keeping, fees and practical arrangements. You will have space to ask questions before agreeing to it, including how your information is used and your data protection rights.
